My first trip to New York was epic! I explored the city, fell in love with the fast paced environment it brings and indulged in an exceptional amount of incredible food!
Let's get into some things we did in New York City...

As a 1st time New Yorker myself, this is my guide on what to do on your 1st New York trip.
Breakdown
New York has so much to offer and oh so much to do, so how do you decide?
Here are my top 3 favorite things we did while in New York:
#1 New York Knicks Game - Dan and I did this with friends and had an absolute blast. If you can go to a game or sporting event or anything at Madison Square Garden, definitely do it!
#2 The Edge - You will get such incredible views of all of New York City. It's a great spot to capture memorable pictures.
#3 Walking in the Central Park - this really brings a breath of fresh air in the busy city. When things get hectic for me in LA, I like to go to the beach for calmness. If I lived in New York, I would go to Central Park.
Site Seeing & Exploring
The ultimate site seeing location! You can see all of New York City.
This is a must see for anyone visiting New York for the first time!
$40 tickets for adults - purchase here.
Hudson Yards
This neighborhood is where the edge is located. You can explore around the building and see this intricate staircase, The Vessel. It was a dream for me to photograph. Designer shopping is also an option in this area.
Ferry Trip to the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island
A 1 hour ferry trip to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Lady Liberty is absolutely stunning up close! I enjoyed learning some facts about New York during the guided tour. This was something I think you can do once and mark it off of the bucket list.
$35 tickets for adults, purchase here.
Macy's Flower Show
I noticed this was happening while I was in NY, so I decided to check it out. While the flowers were definitely beautiful, I think it's something you could easily pass on. If you have a lot of time and love seeing flowers, then why not check it out.
The Macy's Flower Show takes place - Sunday, March 26 to Sunday to April 10, 2023.
Central Park
Like I mentioned above, this is where you need to go if you are looking for a break from the hussle and bustle of NYC. We happened to go on a beautiful day and it was honestly so nice to have a little breather from the city.
Restaurants - Food & Drinks
The food was just WOW! There are so many incredible places to eat in New York, I would love to explore even more one day! Here are the few places we went to and how we enjoyed them:
Our good friend took us to this incredible modern Italian spot. We all ordered the ravioli cacio e pepe because it sounded delicious and OMG, they were to die for!! We ordered a bottle of cab and enjoyed the incredible pasta while visiting with our good friend. The vibes are classy, so I recommend dressing up. This would be a great date night spot!

I met up with my girlfriend, Mary and we had some of the best pasta! I ordered the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe and it didn't disappoint. We ordered the homemade burrata as a starter and it was one of the best I have ever had! This place took me back to Italy and I was not mad about it. You have the option of sitting at the cooks counter to watch your pasta being made. I really enjoyed it, it was such cool experience!

After dinner Mary and I went here for a drink and it was giving whiskey saloon vibes. Dark dingy, you know you're about to get a good cocktail kind of vibey place. I had the absolute best time! I fell in love with the Spicy Sparrow Drink. I need to try to recreate the recipe at home asap!

Ofcourse, I had to have some bagels while I was in New York, so Zuckers was my go to spot. I love a good plain toasted bagel with cream cheese!

This funky vibe rooftop bar was just what I needed after a long morning of exploring. They served small plates and drinks and I got a great view of the empire state building!

This rooftop bar was very unique and an absolute must see! The views were magical and we enjoyed grabbing a drink with our good friend, George. I loved that they provided blankets for everyone, since it was pretty chilly!

This Korean tapas and cocktail bar had the coolest vibes! We ordered the dumplings and coconut shrimp, they were both very delicious.

Shopping & Shows
5th Avenue
From designers like Gucci and Prada to your everyday stores like Sakes, Zara, and Urban Outfitters. Shopping on 5th Ave was my favorite!
Hudson Yards
For designer shopping at an indoor mall, come here!
Red Lace Burlesque Show & Variety Show
After the movie burlesque, I have been searching for a real life show that is like it...
And well, I'm still searching... this show may not be like the movie but it was definitely entertaining! I would say if you have a birthday or bachelorette, this would be a fun thing to do. It is a bit raunchy so just be aware ;)
